External Cerebro Spinal Fluid (CSF) drainage is the treatment of raised intracranial pressure when the ventricles or sub-arachnoid spaces are accessible. External Drainage can also be used for the control of hydrocephalus in case an internal drainage system is infected.
Sophysa offers two different systems for the collection of the CSF in External Drainage. One first system is used for external drainage only. A second system has specific features allowing simultaneous CSF flow rate monitoring. Both systems, combined with External Drainage Catheters, allow aseptic shunting of CSF from the ventricular cavities or lumbar sub-arachnoid spaces to a drainage bag.
